The Dying Age
The elves call this volcanic island a name that means something like The Makers. It could be that its volcanoes are part of the Elf Queen’s long-term pacification program for the northern ocean, creating land that will one day link up with the Empire and blunt the power of the ocean.
For the past thirty years Fire Island has been rendered inhabitable by an Infernal incursion, and its Hellmouth is the largest seen in a generation. Tintinnabulum, Crown Prince of Maleficia and Heir to the Throne of Hell, ruled the island until the recent Crusade pushed the Crown Prince of Maleficia back into Infernus and left the island under the control of the Queen of Fire and Ash and her cultists.
The Ducal family is currently in hiding, although rumor has it the rightful Duchess has wed the Orc Lord.
